Welcome to our website. If you continue to browse and use this website, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy govern Gypsy Cab Nosara’s relationship with you concerning this website.

The term ‘Gypsy Cab Nosara’ or ‘us’ or ‘we’ refers to the website owner, whose registered office is in Nosara, Costa Rica. The term ‘you’ refers to the user or viewer of our website.

2. Scope of Services

Gypsy Cab Nosara provides reliable transportation services primarily for tourists, including:

  • Transfers to and from Liberia Airport (LIR), San José Airport (SJO), and Nosara Airport (NOB).
  • Transportation to various towns around Costa Rica, as well as local transport services.

During periods of high demand, we may collaborate with third-party service providers. We ensure that these partners meet our high standards through rigorous scrutiny. Gypsy Cab Nosara stands behind the quality of these third-party services and assumes full responsibility for their performance.

3. Disclaimer

Gypsy Cab Nosara is not responsible for unforeseen circumstances that cause delays or disruptions beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • Road construction
  • Strikes
  • Weather conditions (e.g., heavy rain)
  • Traffic congestion

In any other situation where we may be held responsible, our liability is limited to the refund of the service fee. This limitation applies only to the service booked, and no additional claims will be honored.

4. Permits and Insurance

Gypsy Cab Nosara is a fully licensed and insured transportation provider, complying with all Costa Rican government regulations. In the event of an accident, all passengers are fully covered by our insurance policies. We maintain up-to-date government permits and ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements.

5. Payment and Refunds

  • Payment Methods: We primarily accept payments via PayPal. Credit card payments are also accepted.
  • Deposit Policy: We accept a non-refundable deposit of $50 to secure your reservation. If you make a deposit and do not show up for the service, we reserve the right to charge you the full amount. This will be done in collaboration with your host and local authorities, as you assume full responsibility for the service charge when signing this agreement.
  • Refund Policy: PayPal refunds are processed within 24 hours. Credit card refunds may take up to 45 days, depending on your credit card company’s processing time.
  • Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled service to be eligible for a refund.
  • Modifications: You can request changes to your service up to 5 working hours before the scheduled time. If your flight is ahead of schedule, our service will follow the original booking time, but we will do our best to help. In case of flight delays, our driver will wait up to 4 hours after the original scheduled arrival time. Any modification request within 5 working hours before the scheduled service may be accepted at the discretion of Gypsy Cab Nosara, with no obligation on our part. Office working hours 6:00 am to 8:00 pm (CST) or (GMT -06:00)
  • No Shows: No-shows will be charged 100% of the rate. If you are late by more than 10 minutes after the pickup time, you will be considered a no-show, and the full-service fee will be charged.

6. Shuttle Pickup Times and Waiting

  • Shuttle Service: The pick-up time for shared shuttle services may vary by approximately 15 minutes due to operational factors. Drivers will wait a maximum of 5 minutes for a customer at the designated pick-up location. If you are not present within this timeframe, you will be considered a no-show, and the full fee will be charged.
  • Airport Transfers: For airport transfers, the driver will wait up to 1 hour after the flight has landed. If, for any reason (including delayed flights), the passenger is not at the designated pick-up location, Gypsy Cab Nosara reserves the right to charge 100% of the service fee.

7. Luggage Policy

  • Surfboards: No extra fees apply for carrying surfboards, but you must declare the number and size of your surfboards in advance. Failure to provide this information may result in an inability to accommodate the surfboards, and Gypsy Cab Nosara will not be held responsible for such circumstances.
  • Bicycles, Kayaks: Our vehicles are not equipped to transport Bicycles or Kayaks. Please contact customer support to inquire about special accommodations for such services. info@gypsycabnosara.com
  • Wheelchair Accessibility: Our vehicles are not equipped to transport wheelchairs or power chairs. Please contact customer support to inquire about special accommodations for such services. info@gypsycabnosara.com
  • General Luggage Rules: Each passenger is allowed up to two pieces of luggage and one carry-on. Items weighing more than 75 kg or with total linear dimensions exceeding 2 meters will not be accepted, except for special items which must be pre-arranged. info@gypsycabnosara.com

8. Children and Unaccompanied Minors

Children under 12 years of age will only be accepted for transportation when accompanied by a passenger who is at least 18 years old. Gypsy Cab Nosara does not accept unaccompanied children under 12 years of age under any circumstances. Unaccompanied teenagers aged 12 years and older are accepted and considered adults for pricing and behavior purposes.

9. Commitment to Safety and Respect

Gypsy Cab Nosara maintains a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, and violence of any kind, including:

  • Anti-Harassment Policy: Any form of sexual harassment or inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated. This applies to both passengers and staff.
  • Non-Discrimination: We are committed to providing a service free from discrimination based on race, gender, nationality, religion, or any other personal characteristic.
  • Violence-Free Policy: Any form of physical or verbal aggression will result in the immediate termination of the service.

We demand the highest standards of behavior from our drivers and staff. In the unlikely event of any misconduct, we request that you report the incident immediately, providing as much information and evidence as possible, so we can address the issue swiftly and appropriately. info@gypsycabnosara.com

10. Responsible Driving Commitment

Our drivers adhere strictly to Costa Rican traffic laws. We do not tolerate requests to speed, overtake recklessly, or violate the law in any way. Any attempt to coerce a driver into illegal behavior will result in the immediate termination of the service without a refund.

11. Fare and Price Changes

We reserve the right to adjust our fares without prior notice. However, once a reservation is confirmed, the agreed-upon price will remain unchanged. Any modifications to the service after booking will not affect the original fare unless additional services are requested.

12. Rest Stops and Vehicle Changes

All transfers include a 10-minute rest stop, typically at a gas station. This stop may also serve as a connection point, where a change of vehicle could be required depending on the route. If preferred, you can request a stop at a supermarket or restaurant along your route, provided these locations are convenient and on the way. Any such stop should not exceed 30 minutes of waiting time and must be arranged in advance. info@gypsycabnosara.com
